This one was tough. I hadn't drawn robots before. I love the shapes and colors of old tin toy robots- I even have a few of them- but I didn't want to simply put rivets on cones, cylinders and cubes. I needed a wacky concept to get me excited about introducing a new robot to the over-populated robot world. After a few sketches, the "ro-bok" showed up (I have somewhat of a history with both chickens and their eggs). The sketch made me laugh, so I scanned it and painted it up in Photoshop.

Thanks for all the nice comments - and thanks to Dan for the challenging topic suggestion!

This is one funky chicken, with some great texture. Excellent work. All you need now is a companion robotic waffle.

Turlockian Waitress: How's your egg?
Disgruntled Egg Orderer: Is the yolk supposed to be runny?
Turlockian Waitress: (knits brows) NO! (swipes plate of supposedly over-hard egg preparatory to running into kitchen to verbally berate short-order cook).

Great take on the idea! I like the color palette, and the fact that the ro-bok looks slightly aged/rusted. Great job!
