“A Dash from Doris”

onk-2.jpg

Dear Aunt Doris had foot surgery then demanded I make her a get-well picture (left). After receiving said picture, she apparently de-constructed it with her craft scissors only to reassemble the image how she saw fit (right). Poor, crazy, demented Aunt Doris - She is loosing her mind - but her creativity is unmatched.

My best friend (I’ve reclaimed her as my own) is phenomenal, isn’t she?

    Dear Aunt Doris,
I hope your foot is healing quickly and, in the mean time, you are becoming proficient at hopping. I am astounded at your creative genius. I love the googly eyed gator.

I think I need to explain this post so as not to take credit for the creativity of others. “Doris” is actually Lindsay Yost who had foot surgery. I was so impressed with how she rearranged my drawing that I had to post this side by side. Everyone (including myself) seems to really like what she did. It seems our spontaneous collaboration is a hit. Lindsay - you should hack up other people’s images and turn them into something better more often.

I assumed it was someone else…from Joanne’s comment. I think you two should come out w/ a book of rearranged art…artists permitting of course. :-)

The boredom of sitting around with your foot in the air can lead to all sorts of creativity. Where are my scissors?
